Integrated Medical Review Officer (MRO) Services

Fully integrated state and federally compliant MRO reporting for faster results.

MRO qualifications require that the MRO is licensed as a medical doctor (MD) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) in any one state. The MRO must have knowledge of substance abuse disorders plus clinical experience. The MRO must pass a certification test by a nationally recognized MRO certification board (e.g., ASAM, MROCC, AAMRO) and complete a mandated training curriculum. The MRO is required to attend a training course every three (3) years. MROs do not work for a laboratory nor do they have a financial relationship with a laboratory. A laboratory may not derive financial benefit by having an employer use a specific MRO.

Our Internet based reporting tool allows the MRO to receive results and release them after review. The laboratory delivers the results and images of our completed collections documentation (chain of custody forms) in an easy to use Internet application. The Internet application is separate and secure from our laboratory networks to maintain the independent relationship between the laboratory and the MRO.
